About Samba Bom
Samba Bom is a duo that plays authentic Brazilian music at schools, festivals and private events. The group features Vince Golomski on keyboard, narration and percussion; and Mo Marchini on percussion, narration, cavaquinho and vocals. In "Sounds of Brazil," the duo brings the audience on a journey into the five regions of Brazil by playing the music from each region within the context of Brazilian history, geography, and culture, starting with the indigenous brazilindians, followed by the influences of the Portuguese as colonizers, and process of slavery from Africa. Samba Bom's presentations demonstrate how different musical styles have intertwined, such as how Afro-Brazilian Samba merged with American Jazz to create Bossa Nova. The show culminates with an audience participation in a Carnaval style "Batucada" using ten volunteers from the audience.
