The Way I See It: Fun With Photography and Writing NEW
Taught by photographer Chinyere E. Oteh, students learn the basics of taking a good photograph and creating a strong self-portrait and that tells a story. Using basic point-and-shoot cameras, students capture images of themselves and pair them with short stories and poems. Students also
learn how to edit both their photos and their writing, selecting their best pieces for a final exhibition.

About Oteh, Chinyere
With an undergraduate degree in American Culture Studies from Washington University, Chinyere E. Oteh enjoys marrying images and text to ask her audience important questions about identity, race and, history. She is a 2007 graduate of the Regional Arts Commissions' Community Arts Training where her interest in bringing art experiences to diverse, underserved communities was strengthened. Most recently she attended Southern Illinois University at Carbondale to gain the basics in black and white, color, and digital photography which provided her with the tools to explore themes in self-portrait and racial identity.
