West African Ensemble Drumming

In this highly energized residency, participants learn authentic African rhythms through movement exercises, word games and hands-on practice with drums, bells, wood blocks and shakers. Adam Rugo, a professional percussionist and scholar of African cultures, discusses how African music reflects a cultural understanding of sharing and mutual responsibility.
