Africa to America NEW
Africa to America is a dynamic performance involving the history, culture, language and creation of three historical dance styles that have transitioned from one continent to another. The dance styles of focus include: West African, Jazz Swing and Hip Hop. Through the use of song, dance and poetry written by the creator Alicia “Sunshine” Williams, your students will have an educational and interactive celebration that will keep them engaged through lively entertainment. They will be able to see a connection in each genre of dance through the dance and music. The Africa to America program will also have a special emphasis on the past and present lifestyle customs of these genres.
