Take an exciting getaway to Brazil! After seeing the sights in a short videotape and a demonstration on how to play Brazilian national instruments, students warm-up with theater games and play music with a South American flair.

About Marchini, Moacyr
Moacyr Marchini (Mr. Mo), is a native of Brazil and has been a professional muscian for 30 years. Moacyr specializes in playing the cavaquinho, a Brazilian guitar, and other traditional Brazilian hand percussion instruments. He is the founder and director of the Chicago Samba School, a non-profit organization promoting Brazilian culture, and Samba Bom in St. Louis. For several years, Moacyr has taught percussion classes and workshops for elementary, secondary schools, universities and community groups in the Midwest. He frequently performs in festivals, night clubs, private functions, and returns often to Brazil, where he studies with samba masters and collects Brazilian recordings and instruments.
