Storyteller and writer Karen Young creates and tells stories “for the young at heart and ancient in spirit.” She brings history and folklore alive with her vivid character portrayals which educate and entertain audiences of all ages. Working with classroom teachers, librarians, museum curators and festival producers, she has created an extensive repertoire of storytelling programs. Her innovative and lively programs support and enhance literature, reading, history, science, math, character education and creative writing curriculums. A professional writer for 30 years, Karen shares her love of writing with students through her dynamic creative writing workshop and residency. Karen believes in the power of story to “tickle your funny bone, engage your mind and open your heart.”
