Marilyn spent 18 years as a children’s librarian, and it was this experience that really sparked her interest in storytelling. She joined St. Louis Gateway Storytellers and also took a storytelling course offered at UM-St. Louis. She participated in numerous workshops and listened to many storytellers before she told her first story outside of the classroom.   After that, she was definitely hooked. There is no greater sense of accomplishment for Marilyn than when she can read a story and make it her own.   “I can see the spark in the eyes of a child when it all comes together,” she says

Marilyn spent 17 years as a “Story Lady” for the Pre-school Story time. She loved sharing with the children the wonder of books. She hopes to inspire a love of reading that last throughout her students’ lives.
