St. Louis’ finest stylist, Carmen R. Guynn has performed and instructed salsa, bachata, Cha Cha Cha for past twenty two years. Known for her unique and distinctive Styling, Carmen is considered one of the most clearly articulated and solid Latin dance instructors St. Louis has to offer. Her dance background includes tap, jazz, modern and Hip Hop. She won Miss Salsa St. Louis in 2002, and has performed in several cultural awareness festivals, fundraisers in the St. Louis, Chicago, New York, New Jersey area. She has performed and taught in several Salsa Congresses including Northwest Salsa Congress, Chicago International Salsa Congress, Memphis Salsa Festival, Cincinnati Salsa Festival, and New York Salsa Congress, New Jersey Salsa Congress and St. Louis International Salsa / Bachata Congress.
Carmen is trained under renowned Salsa and Bachata instructors including ESPN World Salsa Champions Abel Pena and Zulmara Torres. Carmen specializes in training technique for footwork, partnering, and Ladies Styling, leading and following.
Owner, Artistic Director and Choreographer of Almas Del Ritmo Dance Company LLC, she has lead these teams to perform at Thanksgiving Day Parade, Fair St. Louis, Festival on Nations, Dancing in the Streets, Local Corporate companies and many salsa / Bachata Congresses. Her team Conexion Divina earned the spot on the second episode of the OWN Television Show “Welcome to Sweetie Pie’s” first season.
Carmen is the Executive Producer of the St. Louis International Salsa Convention which was showcased on Viacom’s hit show MTV MADE, And uses here Dance Company and events to help bring awareness to Human Trafficking.
